Tidewater House is a family-run guesthouse at 4 Scilly Walk, Kinsale, Co. Cork, five minutes on foot from the town centre along the water. Twelve rooms. Niamh and Tomás Hartigan have run it since 2011.

Rooms and listed rates

Per room, per night, breakfast included for everyone in it.

There are five Garden Doubles, five Harbour Doubles and two Loft Family Rooms. Every room has its own bathroom with a shower, a kettle with tea and coffee, and a hairdryer. Friday and Saturday nights carry a supplement of €25 a night. Midweek stays are quieter and cost less.

Staying

Check-in

From 3 pm to 9 pm. Arriving later? Tell us and we will leave a key in the lock box.

Check-out

By 11 am. Bags can stay with us for the day.

Breakfast

Included in every rate, served 8 am to 10 am: cooked to order, with our own brown bread. Vegetarian, vegan and coeliac breakfasts on request the evening before.

Parking

Free, in our own yard behind the house. Eight spaces, first come.

Dogs

Welcome in the Garden Doubles only, one dog a room, €15 a stay.

Children

Welcome. The Loft Family Room sleeps four; a cot is free on request.

Access

There is no lift. The Garden Doubles are on the ground floor with level access from the yard.

Wi-Fi

Free throughout the house.

Changing your plans

You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before check-in. Inside 48 hours, or if you do not arrive, the first night is charged. We take no deposit: your card is charged at check-out.

Getting here

Kinsale is 30 minutes by car from Cork Airport and 40 from Cork city. The 226 bus from Cork stops at the Pier, a ten-minute walk from the house. The phone is answered 9 am to 8 pm.
